What You Can Do Online

  • Enter your personal details and Canadian driver’s licence information
  • Upload a photo of yourself and a copy of your current driver’s licence
  • Provide your signature electronically
  • Pay securely using a card, PayPal, or another available method
  • Provide a shipping address if you’ve chosen a printed package

How Long Does It Take?

Most applicants complete the form itself in well under ten minutes. After submission, digital copies are typically prepared and emailed within a couple of hours. What You’ll Need on Hand

Applying While Already Travelling

Because the application is entirely online, you can apply even if you’re already away from home — for example, if you realize partway through a trip that you’d like a digital copy of an IDP for the next leg of your journey. Just keep in mind that printed packages will need a valid mailing address for delivery.

After You Apply
